For reasons unbeknownst to me, our lecturer decided for us to paint a variety of strokes, lines and textures on canvas. Although I do have to admit the process was quite fun. So here are the results:
I did the background image by applying dollops of paint on the canvas and brushing it with a plastic comb. I also used sponge, a plastic ruler, paintbrush and a spatula for the rest. The original painting was sans gold line but I added it in with the advice of my lecturer, only difference is that I painted the line to look like it was weaving through the black spaces. As for feedback, it was a "not-bad". Good enough.
Moving on, we also painted our distorted reflections (shown in a previous post) using monochromatic colours. I've had reflections on the side of my watch, on spoons, and piggy banks. The end result is admittedly looking a little plain, but I haven't got around to adding more reflections. Not sure if I'll have the time either..
Our final assignment consists of making greeting cards and we've been given (give or take) a week to finish it. ONE WEEK. More midnight oil to burn!
